Automated Cloud Backup of SQL Databases by Dropmysite

Dropmysite Pte Ltd, has launched cloud-based backup for SQL Database.

SQL is the preferred database for Windows hosting vendors and as result of this new launch Dropmysite now supports backup for all popular variants of hosting solutions – Windows and Linux. Dropmysite offers database backup of MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and MS-SQL.

Through its MS-SQL backup, Dropmysite aims to provide their reliable website and database backup solution to all windows hosting vendors.

“Even though most hosting customers still prefer My-SQL over MS-SQL, there is a steady demand for MS-SQL databases among our customers and partners,” says Ridley Ruth, COO, Dropmysite. “This launch will allow us to capture the 20% of hosting customers who still opt for windows hosting and we will provide the same one click restore functionality our MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB customers have come to rely on.“

The solution is designed to be simple and intuitive. Features such as single sign-on will be provided to the windows hosters and Dropmysite partners. The backup for the SQL database will be completely automated and the user can store multiple copies of the database. The minimum backup frequency is daily and there is also an option for an On-Demand backup as with other databases.

The solution is available to all existing Dropmysite customers and partners at no extra cost.
