The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A method and device for reserving an online data storage space involving receiving a storage request containing a set of parameters including at least one parameter corresponding to a quality of service for storage, analyzing the set of parameters, creating, and sending to online data storage units, a reservation request corresponding to the set of parameters, receiving at least one reply to the reservation request corning from the online data storage units, selecting, among the replies received, an online storage unit as a function of all the parameters defined in the storage request, creating a reservation key enabling access to the selected storage space, sending the reservation key and the selected storage space address.“
