Interoute Launched Two Data Residency Compliant Object Storage Zones

In Geneva and Zurich, Switzerland

Interoute Communications Limited, owner-operator of a cloud services platform and one of Europe’s largest and most advanced networks, has expanded its Object Storage capability to its networked cloud zones in Switzerland with resource in Geneva and Zurich.

Object Storage is a pay-as-you-go solution for any static content, (including images and video), cloud storage or static web site hosting, as well as a complementary storage service for the Interoute Virtual Data Centre IaaS platform. Scalability is simple but efficient and it outperforms traditional enterprise storage.

Matthew Finnie, Interoute CTO commented: “This recent expansion of Interoute Object Storage into Switzerland gives enterprises a resilient scalable storage platform that can be geo-locked within national borders. As part of Interoute’s Networked Cloud the storage also benefits from our ultra-low latency integrated private network making it ideal for hosting applications, websites and frequently accessed digital content as well as more traditional storage uses. With this new service businesses that need to ensure stored data is compliant with data residency laws can do so in the UK, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland on Interoute’s secure Networked Cloud infrastructure.

Every object is replicated in geographically distributed data centres covering London, Slough, Amsterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, and now Geneva and Zurich. Each data centre offers resilience and low latency access to data across company’s private network infrastructure.

Interoute’s data centres provide secure and highly available facilities with multiple up-links to the outside world. All data centres and network infrastructure are certified as ISO 27001, ISAE 3402 and PCI-DSS for information security and data integrity. The guaranteed service level is 99.99% availability per single storage region.

Firm’s private network ensures rapid uploads via the internet from almost anywhere. For maximal resilience data remains writable in case of an outage at any one data centre, and readable in case of simultaneous outage at two data centres.

Alternatively country-sovereign storage principles are applied to ensure data is guaranteed to remain stored within UK, German or Switzerland’s borders.

To access Interoute Object Storage in any of the seven locations, enterprises need to register for an Interoute Virtual Data Centre account. There are no up-front payments or minimum spends and organisations will only pay for the Object Storage capacity that they use during each month.
