Cache-A Corporation, manufacturer of archiving appliances,has appointed MediaCast LLC as its distributor for the UAE and wider Middle East region.

Chosen for its technological prowess and market knowledge of the Middle Eastern media and entertainment industry, MediaCast has made an impact having secured several Cache-A sales to broadcasters, post-production facilities and cultural institutions.

MediaCast is a media technology distributor based in Dubai, from where it serves the whole of the Middle East. A trusted partner for a range of renowned media equipment and software manufacturers, resellers and commercial customers, it has played an integral role in the regional media industry for more than 12 years. It brings technology solutions to a breadth of markets including broadcast, post-production houses, film and music studios, educational institutions, system integrators, web-streaming solution providers, digital storage houses and live-production facilities. 

Cache-A manufactures LTFS LTO-tape archiving appliances that simplify the process of archiving, and which fit into any workflow, be it on-set, production or post-production. The company’s LTO-6 product family includes the desktop Prime-Cache6, Pro-Cache6, performance Power-Cache, flexible Library 24/48 automation systems, and new LTO-Sidecar expansion drive.

Cache-A has also released new, performance products and features. These include the Pro-Cache610, a new, turbo-charged version of its Pro-Cache6 LTO-6 archive appliance, featuring 10GbE I/O capability, which boosts the speed and power of network archiving operations. Recent feature advances include Simul-Copy, a LTO-tape duplication and verification capability that slash the time needed to create multiple LTO-tape copies.

Cache-A’s archiving appliances can manage hundreds of terabytes, written using the industry-standard tar format, or LTFS capability.

I/O connectivity options facilitate their deployment in on-set carts, with SAN/NAS systems in post and robotic libraries. The built-in catalog database enables Cache-A appliances to remember every single Cache-A tape ever loaded.

Users can search, retrieve and interchange content across different platforms, software applications and physical locations, as well as deliver content to their clients.
