McLeod Addictive Disease Center Chooses AMI StorTrends

Vs. contenders Dell PowerVault, EMC and HP

McLeod Center, a large substance
abuse and addictive disease treatment facility in the Carolinas, has chosen to
implement the StorTrends array from American Megatrends Inc. as they
transition to an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

The McLeod IT team is taking a proactive approach to electronically record
patient information in their databases. Systems Engineer Jerrod McKee reviewed
several storage solutions for the facility’s new digital data. Dell, Inc.‘s PowerVault, EMC Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Development Company, LP were some of
McKee’s contenders to run their new VMware environment.

Ultimately, McKee decided StorTrends was the best fit for McLeod based on the
team’s expertise and support.

"I’ve worked in IT for about 12
years, and I’ve never had that quality of support before. It’s the way other
companies need to look at operating,
" McKee said.

Today, McLeod uses the StorTrends array to run all their new VMs.

"It’s a single point of contact for
all our virtual hosts. If we lose one virtual host, we want the VM to migrate
and continue running on one of our other virtual hosts,
" McKee said.
"StorTrends allows that because it’s
that central point of communication. It’s the data store for all our VMs.
"

The transition to an EMR system can potentially be a difficult one, but McKee
chooses a solution that made the process run smoothly. As
McLeod migrates to an EMR system, StorTrends will be there every step of the
way.
