By Philippe Nicolas | July 18, 2025 at 2:02 pmColdago Research, a storage and data management research and analysis firm, released last June its 17th storage unicorn report covering infrastructure, data and storage management segments.
A unicorn is a private company with a $1 billion valuation minimum. The research firm includes entities belonging to private equity or similar firms such as Acronis, Barracuda Networks, Nasuni or Veeam.
The analyst firm monitors several areas and players and established a list of 18 companies. Two have been added, Eon and NinjaOne, and Infinidat, still under a pending acquisition by Lenovo, is maintained on the picture as well. Some of them have revenue and market presence oscillations. The majority of companies play in cloud, file and/or object storage, infrastructure and data protection globally, security included.
The 18 unicorn companies in alphabetic order are: Acronis, Barracuda Networks, Cohesity, DataCore, DDN, Druva, Eon, ExaGrid, Infinidat, Kaseya, MinIO, Nasuni, NinjaOne, Qumulo, VAST Data, Veeam Software, Wasabi Technologies and WEKA.
