Novosoft Adds MySQL Backup Features to Handy Backup

Novosoft LLC has improved the MySQL backup functionality of Handy Backup.

It provides a way for backing up MySQL databases remotely.

“Handy Backup contains the powerful MySQL backup plug-in that lets you protect data without interrupting your web applications and website services. The update brings you an opportunity to backup MySQL database stored not only on your local or networked computer, but on any remote server. You just need to enter required information in order to connect to your database and perform backup task,” said Aleksey Dolgushev, head of Handy Backup business development department.

The program provides backup storage options including local and external HDDs, NAS, FTP/SFTP/FTPS, WebDAV servers, and clouds such as Amazon S3, Dropbox, and others. All copies could be saved with ZIP-compression to minimize required storing space. The software includes a scheduler which allows setting up the program only once to run backup and recovery tasks automatically on a minute to monthly basis.

Advanced MySQL backup functionality is included in server editions (small server and server network) and can be added to other versions through a purchase of a respective plug-in.

Handy Backup is distributed as a shareware, and comes with 30-days free trial period during which all MySQL backup features are available without limitations.
