SpiderOak Offering Enterprise Unlimited Storage Space

$5 fee for monthly user

SpiderOak, Inc. will offer unlimited cloud storage to business users.

The pricing model places no limits on account storage space, endpoint devices, file sizes or historical versions, and instead charges $5 fee for each monthly user. To further its commitment to be a flexible solution on the market for private backup, sync and share, the company also unveiled a mobile application and enhanced enterprise management console.

By offering enterprises unlimited cloud storage and control and ownership over company data – under its ‘Zero-Knowledge’ privacy approach – the company makes it easy for organizations to put their data in the cloud. The pricing model is simpler to understand, explain, and budget for, allowing businesses to see a return on their investment without having to worry about additional fees when they need more storage space, add more employees, or move to mobile.

Our aggressive pricing model and added features for the enterprise show that SpiderOak is stepping up to meet businesses’ growing demand for private storage,” said Ethan Oberman, CEO, SpiderOak. “After analyzing the market and seeing the convoluted ways other providers use metered pricing for certain levels of storage, we believe the simplicity and flexibility of a flat rate model is the best approach and it continues to resonate strongly.

In addition, the enterprise management console 2.0 has been redesigned with an interface that provides greater management and control capabilities. These include locally managed user provisioning, which in addition to Active Directory integration, allows administrators to provision users directly through the management console or the upload of .csv files, and delegated administrator access and reporting.

The company has also introduced a mobile application designed for enterprise users. The application provides flexibility during deployment and will include options like remote wipe. It will be available for both Android and iOS devices, and can be downloaded at no extra charge through the Google Play or Apple iTunes stores.

Allowing organizations to sync their data across any OS, it provides flexible deployment options, from hosted storage to an on-premise solution (deploying a private cloud behind an enterprise’s firewall). With the ability to access data from anywhere, while maintaining control over who can see it, companies using SpiderOak are finding the power of privacy in the cloud.
