This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 21, 2014 at 2:50 pmAreca Technology Corporation announced the availability and shipping of ARC-8050T2 a 8-bay Thunderbolt 2 to 6Gb SAS compact RAID storage.
The solution of Thunderbolt 2 allows 4K video run at the same time as daisy chaining storages devices and doing a simultaneous 4K in/output file transfers. The company focuses on the storage design and let the customers buy his RAID optimized disk drives on the ARC-8050T2 RAID storage.
“Thunderbolt delivers unparalleled performance, flexibility and simplicity to personal computing.” said Jason Ziller, Intel Corp.‘s director of Thunderbolt marketing, “Products like Areca, ARC-8050T2 help highlight what Thunderbolt makes possible.“
Thunderbolt technology is the fastest connection to PC at 20Gb/s – in each direction, and at the same time. It provides simplicity by connecting to data and display devices with a single cable, up to six devices in a daisy-chain.
The appliance gives video editor power to unleash their creativity work in real-time, with the high-bandwidth allow large amount of audio and 4K video capture/mixing devices transferred faster with low latency and high-accurate synchronization at 20Gb/s in both PC and Intel-based Mac. With design features and support for SATA, SAS and SSDs, ARC-8050T2 supports the following features.
- Configuration by the Thunderbolt/LAN port/LCD
- Configuration for smooth data streaming.
- Support bootable drive via Thunderbolt
- Controller-level hardware encryption for higher levels data security
- Support BBM option for data availability
- Power on/off function for data integrity
- Access the status report via LCD.
Configuration provides parameter to adjust controlled firmware behavior for smooth data streaming. It provides user the capability of adding bootable drive via Thunderbolt on Apple thunderbolt-capable machine. Power on/off function powers down the unit after the Thunderbolt host shuts down everything for data integrity. It also supports a battery backup option that protects all data in cache memory in the event of power outage. Board-level hardware encryption manages any kinds of drives attached without impacting the performance for security
The ARC-8050T2 is available, shipping in February 2014.
