Galileo Performance Explorer Adds IBM GPFS and Storwize V7000 Agents
Allows analysis of cluster at each node, file system, and pool level.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 13, 2014 at 2:54 pmGalileo Performance Explorer (ATS Group) has added two agents for users of IBM GPFS server systems and Storwize V7000 unified storage systems.
These infrastructure charting tools provide customizable insights into cluster statistics for identification of performance bottlenecks. Configuration and capacity table layouts are viewable within the portal.
“The new GPFS agent charts server performance data across 47 metrics in 74 new charts for visualization of the entire GPFS cluster, including hundreds or thousands of nodes,” says Tim Conley, co-founder, Galileo Performance Explorer. “The Galileo GPFS agent also aids in capacity planning to size and allocate, or reallocate CPU, memory, network and SAN resources for optimal performance, based on varying workloads.“
Configuration inconsistency can be identified through one-views of cluster configuration information such as GPFS pools and FS block size.
The Storwize V7000 unified agent provides customized dashboard snapshots of the V7000 unified system configuration, capacity and performance at-a-glance.
Tim Conley says: “Over 80 storage performance metrics provide essential cluster statistics such as I/O throughput, metadata operations, client network throughput, quotas, shares as well as disk, pool and file system usage data.“
Production workloads can also be assessed with time-based capacity planning features available based on production workloads.
