It provides MSPs with a recurring revenue opportunity, as customer demand for secure cloud backup services continues to rise.

This version features Virtual DR technology, enabling customers to recover failed Windows systems as a VMware ESXi 4.1 or vSphere 5.x compatible VM. The ability to perform a full system restore via a VM Disk, automates DR and provides data accessibility, as customers no longer have to wait until a failed physical machine is repaired or a new one is purchased. It also includes expanded platform coverage, with support for Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1, Apple Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and vSphere 5.5.

For MSPs that rely on third-party services automation tools to automate billing and service ticket management, the tool includes integration with ConnectWise, in addition to Autotask’s PSA software. Combined with remote monitoring and management functionality delivered by tools such as RemoteManagement, this integration enables MSPs to monitor and remediate backup failures through their PSA software, reducing the time and labor involved in recovering systems from total loss. This capability transforms MSPs’ online backup service into a DraaS offering.

Data volumes are increasing at a rapid rate and business-critical information is now being housed across heterogeneous environments. MSPs need a solution that covers all of these platforms,” said Dr. Alistair Forbes, GM, GFI MAX business unit. “The cloud is becoming the most effective vehicle for backup and recovery services because it offers a comprehensive, simple and cost-effective alternative to conventional methods. The addition of the Virtual DR functionality makes the recovery process even faster and more convenient, ensuring that MSPs using it can meet the most challenging RTOs.GFI MAX Backup combines these benefits with innovative technology, equipping MSPs with an unrivaled, revenue-driving offering that meets customer demand for hassle-free backup and recovery at every turn.

The technologies, including True Delta and Local SpeedVault, deliver a D2D2C or hybrid approach to data protection. The service provides scalable backups both to the cloud and to local storage on-site while removing the overhead and risk associated with managing removable media. Additionally, it offers a range of encryption options from 128-bit to 448-bit Blowfish encryption. The result is a combination of security and performance: backups and restores are fast and data is protected and available.

The latest version is available.
