Safestor Enterprise Data Management to SHI Cloud Marketplace
Tier 3+ SSAE 16 SOC-2 type II-certified data center infrastructure powered by CommVault
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 21, 2014 at 2:57 pmResponding to the business challenge of managing large volumes of information, SHI International Corp. and UbiStor, Inc. have partnered to bring the SafeStor Enterprise solution, powered by CommVault Systems Inc. to the SHI Cloud Marketplace.
A solution for data protection, storage management, archiving and eDiscovery, it offers businesses control over their data environment paired with the reliability and security of a Tier 3+ SSAE 16 SOC-2 Type II-certified data center infrastructure.
With data growth reaching record volumes, companies are confronted with associated challenges. Information must be kept secure and in line with compliance regulations, archives must be searchable for legal purposes and storage capacity must be scalable without encouraging wasteful expansion and sprawl. Better data management enables companies to keep spending under control, avoid information leakage and simplify eDiscovery and compliance. Employing managed services optimizes solution effectiveness and reduces capital and operational expenses. This addition to the marketplace brings together SHI’s Management and support services and UbiStor’s CommVault-as-a-Service capabilities to meet these goals.
Leveraging CommVault Simpana software and UbiStor infrastructure and managed services, it is a scalable, pay-as-you-grow cloud solution that allows companies to manage their storage environment – backups, recovery, archiving, collaboration and more – from a single console. It is designed to help companies use their resources efficiently by enabling planning, as well as by incorporating technologies such as dedupe and compression. Encryption keeps files secure, and recovery, whether across the entire environment or on a granular file level, ensures data protection.
“In the current climate of massive information growth, companies need solutions for more intelligent data management and better oversight of the files in their storage environment,” UbiStor CEO Dan Hill said. “Whether they are looking to improve their eDiscovery processes, implement a more effective backup and recovery solution or adopt a tool that enables them to expand storage capacity in a smart, scalable way, businesses will find substantial value in a fully managed CommVault-as-a-Service solution. The partnership between SHI and UbiStor will bring these key services to more customers and make them easy to access in the SHI cloud Marketplace.“
“Our clients are hungry for solutions that solve big problems,” SHI cloud GM, Richard Place, stated. “They are challenged with explosive data growth and need automated, fully managed solutions that solve the current problem and lay a solid foundation for successfully addressing the future. CommVault-as-a-Service provides just that and perfectly suits the essence of SHI cloud Marketplace.“
The marketplace launched in November, giving SHI customers access to an array of cloud services and providers. In adding UbiStor’s SafeStor Enterprise CVaaS offering, it continues to broaden the available provider options and improve the value of the cloud for its customers.
