RAID Inc. Taps 4U, 60-Bay Ethernet Drive EBOD Solution
Based on Seagate Kinetic platform with Ethernet HDDs
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 13, 2013 at 2:22 pmRAID Incorporated has created a chassis to host a storage solution made up of independent Ethernet-connected drives.
This 4U, 60-bay framework with 10GbE switching will house drives based on the Kinetic Open Storage platform developed by Seagate.
This storage array provides redundancy including independent Ethernet switching on each I/O module, an RJ45 management connection that is independent of the data plane, integrated environmental management, and point-to-point connections between board service processors. Every HDD can be powered on and controlled through this management subsystem, which supports both SSL and HTTPS interfaces.
“This technology will impact the landscape of cloud, archival, and tier 3 storage solutions. By leveraging existing network infrastructures, this innovation will lower costs and greatly expand storage platforms,” says RAID Inc.’s CEO, Bob Picardi.
The company will display this solution at SuperComputing 2013, hosted in the Colorado Convention Center, Denver, CO November 18-21, 2013.
Availability of the solution begins on 1Q2014.
