Larger Capacity Nodes for Digital Preservation Platform by Object Matrix
88TB and 128TB useable capacity, RAID-6, 4U
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 7, 2013 at 2:12 pmObject Matrix Ltd announced the availability of larger capacity storage units for its digital preservation platforms.
Denser Nodes
During the IBC show in Amsterdam in September, the company launched two storage solutions offering 500TB and 1PB of nearline storage for £175k and £250k respectively (inclusive of support and 3rd party plug-ins). This solution provides for plug-and-play ease of management, multi-petabyte scalability and comes with the option for 10GbE connectivity at no extra cost, meaning a 1PB cluster can store data at up to 10GB/s.
The reaction to the launch has resulted in introduction of the following denser nodes:
- 96TB, 88TB useable (RAID-6) in a 4u form factor
- 144TB, 128TB useable (RAID-6) in a 4u form factor
The nodes can be added to any existing cluster thus ensuring content can live on object based disk archive with little or no management effort.
“With its cost, ease of management, performance, scalability and functionally, this MatrixStore product opens up a new dimension for how to handle, use and re-use assets,” said Jonathan Morgan, MD, Object Matrix, “But the main benefit that this solution provides has to be that your storage doesn’t have to be your bottleneck or headache anymore. This offer demonstrates how modern solutions can not just meet but can actually exceed the demands required of them. Object Matrix wanted to launch something special for our 10 year anniversary and we couldn’t be more pleased with this game-changing platform.”
Capacity Bundles.
The company is also changing the pricing structure of its object based enterprise storage offering by offering capacity packs. It contains every element required create a cluster from the internal networking to the nodes themselves. The capacity packs start from 30TB (useable RAID-6) all the way to 1PB. When more storage is needed add on additional nodes or more capacity packs.
The nodes are available from Object Matrix and its network of business partners.
