IBM DS8880 All-Flash family Function Authorizations

Function Authorizations for IBM DS8880 (M/T 904x) all-flash family are now available as 8xxx feature numbers. IBM DS8000 series Function Authorizations establish the extent of IBM authorization for use of the licensed functions on the IBM DS8880 all-flash family.

IBM DS8000 series Function Authorizations are for billing purposes only and establish the extent of IBM authorization for use of the licensed functions on an IBM DS8880 (IBM 5331, 5332, 5333, or 5334).

The following Licensed Functions are being introduced:

  • 9046 Model FF8:
    • Base function license (feature numbers 81xx)
    • Copy Services (CS) license (feature numbers 82xx)
    • z-synergy Services (zsS) License (feature numbers 83xx)
    • Copy Services Manager on Hardware Management Console (HMC) (feature number 84xx) (1)
  • 9047 Model FF8:
    • Base function license (feature numbers 81xx)
    • Copy Services (CS) license (feature numbers 82xx)
    • z-synergy Services (zsS) License (feature numbers 83xx)
    • Copy Services Manager on HMC (feature number 84xx) (1)
  • 9048 Model FF8:
    • Base function license (feature numbers 81xx)
    • Copy Services (CS) license (feature numbers 82xx)
    • z-synergy Services (zsS) License (feature numbers 83xx)
    • Copy Services Manager on HMC (feature number 84xx) (1)
  • 9049 Model FF8:
    • Base function license (feature numbers 81xx)
    • Copy Services (CS) license (feature numbers 82xx)
    • z-synergy Services (zsS) License (feature numbers 83xx)
    • Copy Services Manager on HMC (feature number 84xx) (1)

Machine types 9046, 9047, 9048, and 9049 Model FF8 represent one, two, three, and four years of warranty respectively.

(1) Required to purchase Copy Services Manager (CSM) on HMC license via Passport Advantage before licensed can be activated.

Key prerequisites
All announced features and functions are supported on the DS8000 series and require DS8000 LMC 8.8.21.xx.xx (bundle version 88.21.xxx.xx), or later.
