StorServer Replacement Program for Symantec Backup Exec Appliance  

In the wake of Symantec Corp. ending sales of its Backup Exec 3600 appliance, StorServer, Inc. announces its replacement program for Symantec Backup Exec appliance customers, offering a free assessment of their storage and hardware configurations.

On Oct. 10, Symantec announced the discontinuation of its Backup Exec 3600 appliance effective Jan. 5, 2015. During STORServer’s limited-time replacement program, the company is offering to have its professionally certified consultants perform a free assessment for Symantec customers to see if the Backup Exec system is running smoothly and determine if it can be reconfigured to function better.

As the original provider of the ‘appliance’ approach to data protection, StorServer is also enabling Backup Exec appliance customers to utilize their existing hardware and storage in a StorServer hybrid appliance solution. It is designed to use qualifying, customer-supplied hardware to provide a fully integrated STORServer solution.
