Originated From France, 2CRSI Unveils Fast, Dense Server Storage Using NVMe

2U, up to 77TB on Intel SSDs, 24 NVMe disks and NVMe PCIe adapter

Server and storage solutions provider, 2CRSI Corp. announced two products revealing its advanced, most dense storage solutions, 2U24NVMe and NVMe Express.

The hardware will be unveiled at the ISC High Performance 30th annual conference in Frankfurt, Germany, one the largest events for HPC in the world.

HPC tasks involve massive amounts of data; usually data that must be processed and retrieved instantaneously. The ability to process these vast data quickly is crucial to business success. Consider a space shuttle launch, geological studies for gas and oil companies, and any business that deals with big data, big analytics, and log analysis.

In IBM’s 2014 study, Analytics: The speed advantage: Why data-driven organizations are winning the race in today’s marketplace, the IBM Institute for Business Value found after surveying 1,000 business and IT executives from 60 countries, 69% of speed-driven analytics organizations created a significant positive impact on business outcomes. One of the four major shifts noted in the study was “the value driver for big data has shifted from volume to velocity.”

Utilizing efficient and stable NVMe (non-volatile memory), technology used in SSDs, 2CRSI has fused fast I/O with up to 24 NVMe drives in a 2U form factor for a total capacity of up to 76.8TB. 1GbE comes standard, with an option of up to 4x40GbE. For super-high throughput with extremely low latency, users can opt instead for IB technology.

2CRSI CTO Adrien Badina commented: “The speed from disk to CPU in the 2U24NVMe is up to 2,800 MB/s and 450,000 IO/s with Intel SSD DC P3700, and this result is achieved without disk striping. The speed to network can be incredible, too, thanks to 4x 40GbE or IB.”

The second new product, the NVMe Express, is a PCIe card that allows for high-speed transfer and high data availability without replacement of the motherboard or the added expense of controllers. The product is compatible with Intel and HGST, with anticipation of additional vendors soon. The card provides up to 3.2TB of capacity with sequential reads of up to 2,800MB/s and sequential writes up to 1,900MB/s.

CEO Alain Wilmouth remarked: “This is a proud day for the 2CRSI team. With HPC and big data becoming ever more prevalent in all industries, it is essential for companies to have trusted, efficient, powerful tools that provide data quickly and easily so leaders can make timely, informed, critical decisions. Our two newest products are a direct response to that need, increasing speed and accessibility, conserving space and energy with a scalable solution, and having an immediate economic impact for the user.

Founded in 2005 and with HQs in Chapel Hill, NC and Strasbourg, France, 2CRSI designs and manufactures storage systems, HPC, and customized IT appliances. Their servers are designed and manufactured in France and assembled in both France and the US. Customers include data centers, ISVs, distributors.
