Kaminario Clarity Cloud Platform to Deliver Application-Level Intelligence to All-flash Storage

Set of management and monitoring functionalities, including capability to leverage application-level intelligence, machine learning and big data analytics

Kaminario Technologies, Ltd announced Clarity – a cloud-based analytics platform that extends the capability of its all-flash storage array, K2 – to enhance performance of on-demand apps and boost IT productivity.

Clarity includes a set of management and monitoring functionalities, including a capability to leverage application-level intelligence, machine learning and big data analytics – all of which enable customers to get productivity out of their storage environment and deliver performance for business-critical applications.

Clarity simplifies infrastructure management with a single view of different layers of the data centre stack that have been traditionally managed in isolation. Aggregating data across the full application delivery infrastructure, it enables app-aware data services including simplified QoS. Machine learning techniques applied to customer data deliver actionable insights on workload placement, performance tuning, fabric configuration, database optimization that have direct impact on user experience, cost efficiency, and business productivity.

Enterprise IT and storage management are complicated with advanced functions like QoS completely isolated to storage resources,” said Shachar Fienblit, CTO, Kaminario. “With Clarity, we can now leverage data and trends across the IT infrastructure and optimize specific storage systems to boost performance of critical applications and simplify management.

K2 all-flash array delivers the agility, scalability, performance and economics a data centre requires to deal with unpredictable IT environment. Clarity further extends the company’s lead in delivering all-flash solutions to on-demand application providers by incorporating application-level intelligence in cloud-based management, analytics, and optimization utilities designed for application providers.

Cloud-based prescriptive analytics platforms are one of the features that differentiate next generation network-based arrays from the prior generation’s enterprise storage workhorses,” said Eric Burgener, research director, enterprise storage, IDC. “By providing actionable input to storage administrators based on extensive monitoring and the application of big data analytics, these platforms simplify system performance optimization, capacity planning, availability management and other routine operational tasks, providing significant value relative to legacy approaches which are much more labour-intensive.

Clarity will be available in 1H17.
