IBM EXP2512 and EXP2524 2U Storage Enclosures for System x
Supporting 12 3.5-inch or 24 2.5-inch HDDs

EXP2500 delivers 6GB SAS disk storage technology in a 2U, 19-inch rack mount enclosure that connects directly to select System x servers using the IBM ServeRAID M5025 or M5120 SAS/SATA controller. Storage capacity can be scaled by daisy-chain connection of multiple EXP2500 enclosures from a single ServeRAID controller port.
EXP2500 is available in two models:
- EXP2512 with twelve drive bays for 3.5-inch (LFF) drives
- EXP2524 with twenty-four drive bays for 2.5-inch (SFF) drives
SSDs are supported. Drives of the same form factor can be intermixed within an enclosure, and they can be intermixed within a daisy-chain configuration.
RAID technology and other functions are provided through the ServeRAID controller.
Key prerequisites: The EXP2500 is supported for connection to select System x servers through ServeRAID M5025 and M5120 SAS/SATA controllers.
