Huawei RH2288H Server Achieves VMware Virtual SAN Certification

Shared virtual data store with policy-based management

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd announced that its RH2288H V2 rack server has achieved VMware Virtual SAN certification based on its design, performance and expansion capacity.

Huawei joins a list of international vendors that have VMware Virtual SAN Ready Nodes certification. VMware Virtual SAN is a hypervisor-converged software-defined storage solution that can be deployed on various x86 servers. It abstracts and pools server-side flash and disk into shared virtual data store with policy-based management and application-centric data services. The RH2288H V2 Virtual SAN Ready Node is a validated server configuration jointly recommended by Huawei and VMware for Virtual SAN deployment.

The RH2288H V2 is a 2U 2-socket rack server that supports two Xeon E5-2600/E5-2600 v2 series processors. With an innovative architecture and high-efficiency design, the server implements  computing performance and storage expansion by providing up to 768GB memory capacity together with a large local storage capacity up to 50TB. The server is a platform for cloud computing and key services with databases.

The VMware Virtual SAN certification will enrich Huawei’s software-defined storage capabilities for customers, while reducing TCO. It will also supplement converged virtualization management storage solutions that use the vSphere kernel and create shared storage that features virtual environment design, flash memory optimization, and recovery capabilities.
