Drobo Brings Time Machine

When Mac users add a disk to Time Machine there is no option to choose how much capacity to use for backup. Without the ability to set a limit for Time Machine, users must sacrifice their entire disk for backup leaving no room for user data. The latest enhancement for Drobo solves this challenge by allowing users to keep Time Machine backups as well as their documents, videos and photos on the same device. Customers no longer need to purchase multiple USB devices to protect their data; saving them time, money and the hassle of managing individual drives.

Providing data protection solutions that are easy to use without compromising functionality or peace-of-mind is the foundation for all Drobo products,” said Joe Disher, senior director of product marketing, Drobo. “With our latest update we’ve Never before has a locally attached storage array made it this simple to allocate space for both Time Machine backups and user data, giving our customers an elegant way to maximize capacity and eliminate the need to keep stacks of cluttered backup drives on their desk. This free update for all existing Drobo 5D and Mini customers shows our continued commitment to our loyal user base.

The company continues to simplify the experience for Mac users, making Drobo the solution for consolidating Time Machine backups and user data onto a high performance, fully protected storage array.

The update is available to download for all existing Drobo 5D and Drobo Mini customers and can be implemented without disruption to existing data.
