Buffalo NAS: TeraStation Windows Storage Server WSH5610DNS2
6 bays, £3,000 for 12TB and £4,000 for 24TB
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 24, 2016 at 2:58 pmBuffalo Technology EU BV announced the addition of a product within its TeraStation Windows Storage Server series, the WSH5610DNS2 (WSH).
The six-bay NAS provides businesses with increased reliability, stability and faster performance. Company’s proprietary hardware RAID runs the device’s OS from its own separate SSD, which frees up the HDD drive entirely. Additionally, it enables the WSH to deliver continuous performance, unaffected by ‘heavy load’ operations, even during RAID re-building.
The device is powered by a quad core processor for class-leading performance and is fully populated with WD Red NAS drives with available capacities of 12 or 24TB. It enables RAID-6 double distributed parity, a feature that is new to Windows Storage Server NAS and provides a further level of protection. Therefore, in the extremely rare case of simultaneous loss of two HDDs, all data is safe, intact, and ready to re-build the RAID.
The WSH comes with Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 (standard edition) and integrates with Windows computers and servers, enabling businesses to deploy massive storage capacity quickly and with ease.
Raj Patel, manager, B2B UK, Buffalo Europe, said: “The new TeraStation came as a result of demand from our customers. Performance and reliability are crucial for businesses when storing data, at an affordable price. With the new TeraStation, companies have access to all the benefits of hardware RAID and RAID-6 in a cost-effective solution“.
