Buffalo Adopts 6TB HGST Helium HDDs For Enterprise NAS

Buffalo Americas, Inc. announced the availability of the TeraStation 7120r enterprise 72TB 2U rackmount NAS (TS-2RZH72T12D), a NAS with 6TB HGST Ultrastar He6 helium-filled drives.

This quad-core, enterprise NAS enables IT managers to expand their system storage capacity without adding rack storage space, power circuits or additional storage units, resulting in maximized space utilization and reduced TCO.

Large-scale datacenters and enterprise IT service providers are continually required to increase storage space efficiency while lowering costs. Buffalo’s latest high-performance NAS offering delivers improved efficiency by utilizing the hermetically sealed helium HDD intended for massive scale-out environments. TeraStation 7120r Enterprise
The TeraStation 7120r Enterprise NAS offers 72TB of high performance, high available storage featuring the Xeon E3-1275 quad-core processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM and twelve 6TB enterprise Ultrastar He6 HDDs for performance. It is VMware Certified and Citrix Ready, and support for RAID-0/1/5/6/10/50/51/60/61, provides CDP for business critical data and increased fault tolerance and data availability. It is packed with features such as Active Directory support, disk quota support, share level replication, quad GbE ports supporting link aggregation up to 4Gbps, hot-swap HDDs, iSCSI targeting and add-on PCI-Express card support with approved devices.

Reducing Data Center TCO with Helium
