Amax Open CloudServer V2 for Converged Solutions

Holds up to 24 compute and storage blades with 10GbE or 40GbE network interconnectivity

Amax Information Technologies Inc. introduces the ServMax Open CloudServer datacenter solution based on the Microsoft Open CloudServer version 2 specifications.

AMAX_OCS2

The ServMax Open CloudServer (OCS) is a solution for running business applications that are built to integrate compute, storage, and networking functionality with technology exchange and heterogeneous management. It offers modularity, simplicity, high power efficiency, operational agility, HA, and scalability to datacenter customers in a standard 19-inch rack. ServMax OCS solution integrates compute nodes and storage nodes in an easy-to-use turnkey package that is designed specifically for faster performance and greater flexibility, and also for the office and distributed enterprise environment.

OCS solution holds up to 24 compute and storage blades in any combination to serve specific computing requirements within a 12U chassis and integrated with an out of band management module. This solution centralizes the power suppliers (5+1 redundancy) for up to a pool of 9.6K watt power source, and utilizes large fan walls to reach the operational beyond the capability of conventional servers currently available in the market.

OCS solution offers two different types of nodes – an OCS compute node and an OCS JBOD storage node. The OCS compute node supports the Xeon E5-2600 v3 processor family to provide computing performance. With up to eight HDDs (four 3.5″ and four 2.5″), plus four M.2 SSD module slots, OCS compute node provides compute and storage integration that is easy-to-use. OCS JBOD storage node supports up to ten 3.5″ fixed HDD drives with high storage density in a 1/2U architecture, and is for big data analytics applications such as Hadoop as well as cloud and distributed software applications.

With 10GbE or 40GbE network interconnectivity, OCS solution increases data transfer speed across blade servers and networks. The shared single compute/storage tray backplane design and pre-configured rear cables function the same as the blade mid plane to help reduce service complexity and allow enterprise businesses to run mission critical applications. OCS chassis manager software presents an interface for the complete rack infrastructure, including the in-band and out-of-band management paths.
