Akitio Releases 4-Bay Thunderbolt 2 Storage Solution

Akitio, retail brand of inXtron, Inc., has expanded their line of Thunderbolt storage solutions to include the Thunder2QUAD, a 4bay Thunderbolt 2 product that is tailored for professional 4K video editing and can be used in various other occupations where larger storage capacity and high-speed data transfer speeds are required.

It holds up to four drives and can handle 3.5″, 2.5″ or SSDs. Capacity can reach up to 20TB when using 3.5″ drives and reaches transfer speeds of up to 1.4Gb/s when four SSDs are installed.

This storage device will be sold both as an empty enclosure and with pre-installed drives (either HDDs or SSDs). As with all the company’s Thunderbolt products, it will come with a Thunderbolt cable.

The product joins a line-up of Thunderbolt products which includes one bay, two bay and four bay storage products such as the Palm RAID that won Best of Show at Macworld 2014, as well as PCI expansion and Thunderbolt docking solutions.
