In Big Data Analytics, Start-Up Kyvos Insights Out of Stealth Mode

With soution developing insights from all corporate data, regardless of size and granularity, and OLAP on Hadoop technology

Kyvos Insights, Inc., a big data analytics company, emerged from stealth mode with the charter to unlock the power of big data analytics.

The company has created a solution called Kyvos to develop insights from all corporate data, regardless of size and granularity.

Also announced, Kyvos is a solution which brings a new model of online analytical processing (OLAP) to big data that allows users to visually create and analyze ‘cubes on Hadoop.’ This technology enables users to derive valuable insights for better, more informed business decisions through previously unattainable levels of scalability and interactivity (see Kyvos Insights Launches A Massively Scalable, Self-Service OLAP Solution For Big Data Analytics.)

The start-up was founded by a team of veterans from Yahoo!, Impetus and Intellicus Technologies, who have years of analytics expertise in big data, with the goal of revolutionizing big data analytics. Specifically, the company seeks to deliver a solution that eliminates the traditional performance and scalability constraints of OLAP, bringing the power of interactive analytics to big data.

The Kyvos solution empowers business users to access, visualize and interact directly with their data on Hadoop, at any scale, without relying on programmers. Kyvos supports all major Hadoop distributions including Apache Hadoop, Cloudera, Hortonworks and MapR, giving enterprise customers the flexibility to use Kyvos, independent of their Hadoop vendor.

The product was developed with the help of industry firms most affected by the benefits and challenges presented by big data analytics, and is being used in industries including telecommunications, media and entertainment, financial services, technology and travel.

To date, the product has been previewed as part of discussions on the future of OLAP in big data environments at a number of industry conferences, including the Gartner Business Intelligence and Analytics Summit in March and the Hadoop Summit in June.

The business opportunity to bring the enabling approaches of proven data analysis best practices and tools to the world of big data is incredible,” said Praveen Kankariya, founder and CEO, Kyvos. “As a company, we’ve brought together business intelligence and big data experts that exhibit an unbridled passion to impact the big data market on a significant scale.”
