From Swissbit, X-60m Embedded SSDs for Industrial and Netcom Application

Swissbit AG has announced its next generation X-60m Series mSATA SSD product family.

Compliant with the SATA III interface specification, these drives are designed to meet the application requirements of the industrial, netcom and automotive customers.

X-60m drives are compliant with the JEDEC MO-300A Standard (50.8×29.85×3.5mm) and suited for embedded applications needing performance, non-volatile SSD storage in a compact, removable form-factor.
 
The X-60m series achieves sequential R/W speeds of up to 525MB/s and 450MB/s, respectively. While random R/W performance of up to 75,000 IO/s, for transfer sizes of 4KB and queue depths of 32, can also be expected.
 
The X-60m addresses the needs of industrial, netcom and other applications that place demands on embedded storage drives in terms of operating environments. X-60m SSDs are designed to deliver reliable operation over both Commercial (0°C to +70°C) and Industrial (-40°C to +85°C) temperature ranges. It supports a maximum shock/vibration rating of 2,000G/20G as per MIL-STD810 and is rated at over 2,000,000 hours MTBF.
 
X-60m SSD products offer a range of hardware and firmware based product features which maximize performance, reliability and endurance over the drive lifetime. Wear leveling and bad block management techniques insure that flash blocks are used sparingly and equally in order to prolong drive lifetime. Intelligent power fail protection and recovery mechanisms guard against data corruption in the event of an unexpected power loss. Enhanced drive lifetime monitoring features enable users to access detailed drive lifetime statistics and assist in mitigating a potential failure, avoiding unexpected data loss and system downtime. Swissbit’s Data Care Management firmware suite includes Adaptive Read Refresh, Background Media Scan, Dynamic Bad Block Remapping, and Write Amplification Reduction. For applications requiring higher levels of security and data protection, AES-256 encryption support can be provided upon request.

X-60m customer samples in 30GB, 60GB, 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities are available in June, with mass production availability starting in August. 8GB and 16GB capacities will be available in the latter part of 3Q15.
