As mentioned by analysts, plenty of IT shops have rejected SRM tools in the past because of the cost and the complexity of implementing them. Considering the storage heterogeneity of the infrastructures, accelerated by the introduction in the market of new technologies like flash, new concepts like object storage or software-defined storage, many of these same organizations may need to reconsider SRM software as they confront the challenge of managing their expanding storage environments on tight budgets.

San Sentinel technology enables to collect the objects composing the storage infrastructure without any installation. Each collected object is normalized to allow an application or an end user to retrieve it in a unique point without needing to know the physical location of the data.

It is essential to automate and rationalize storage in cloud computing environments. By applying this technological to SRM  applications, the company has developed Sentinel Navigator, a SaaS/cloud storage management in a cloud solution capable of analyzing storage environments and providing information on a dashboard accessible through a graphic interface from anywhere in the world.

By supporting HDS storage arrays, the firm brings to its customers the new generation of storage management tools in a cloud at low cost. HDS customers can now take benefits of the San Sentinel’s technology for optimizing the storage infrastructure by reducing costs and resources dedicated to the storage administration.

They can save from 30% and up to 50% of administration time by automating most of the common tasks and using the tools available. The storage cost can be reduced by 5% to 15%, by recovering unused space on a regular basis. Customers can decrease by 5% the storage allocated to the business lines by fine controlling their current consumption. In addition, time to report is decreased by ten, by automating a monthly report and by giving the management a dashboard accessible at any time. With a better control of the infrastructure evolution, they can divide by two the risk of incidents and save time on troubleshooting.

Supporting HDS storage arrays in Sentinel Navigator has been requested by our customers having heterogeneous storage infrastructure. HDS, a major high end storage vendor is now integrated and qualified with San Sentinel. Thanks to this integration, we bring value to more than 70% of the enterprise storage arrays of the market,” says Jeronimo Munoz COO, San Sentinel.
