Paragon With Boot Camp Backup Beta

All-in-one Windows systems backup, restore and migration solution under OS X

Paragon Software Group announced Boot Camp Backup beta, an unified backup, restore and Windows system migration software for Mac OS X.

Dual-boot users are invited to download and test this new software free of charge. Forty of the most active beta testers will get free commercial licenses while the other beta testers get a 30% discount on the commercial release, scheduled for November 2014.

Why use Boot Camp Backup?
Time Machine, the backup software distributed with Apple OS X, does not backup Windows partitions under Boot Camp configuration, leaving Mac users under data loss threats. Boot Camp Backup addresses the needs of Mac users utilizing the Windows OS by providing a sector-based backup of all Windows data on Mac. Boot Camp Backup allows Mac users to not only backup but, in case of a disaster, restore Windows partitions in a matter of minutes. This software also allows system migration without any risk to data loss or system stability.

Typical Usage Scenarios:

  • Backup Boot Camp and restore selected files/folders on the same system (e.g. when they get accidentally deleted)

  • Migrate the full system to a different Mac

 Features and Benefits Sector-Level Backup:

  • Create file system backups.

  • Backup to VD: store data in a virtual disk. The user can mount this disk and access the partition data at a point in time, when backup was done.

  • Incremental imaging: backup only changed sectors. Incremental imaging improves backup efficiency and reduces storage disk space required by the image.

  • Schedule backup: automate regular backup operations.

  • Selective restore: extract files and folders from a backup image without the need to restore the entire image.

  • Windows migration: migrate Windows OS from one Mac computer to another.

Boot Camp Backup beta is available for download free of charge. The commercial release is scheduled for November 2014. Users of beta will get a 30% discount on the commercial product at that time.
