PanTerra Networks Mobile App for Sharing and Messaging

Available for Android and iOS

PanTerra Networks, Inc. announced the addition of mobile functionality to its SmartBox cloud file-sharing and storage service to deliver real-time collaboration and unified communications capabilities.

UCC

SmartBox-UCC combines the functionality of the company’s Mobile UCC (Unified cloud Communications) application with its SmartBox file-sharing application for a more unified solution that delivers service and a lower TCO for the mid-market. Additionally, customers will receive improved security features, including built-in multi-factor authentication (MFA), in-transit/at-rest encryption and remote blocking for additional IT peace of mind. The application is available for Apple and Android OSs.

Customers can streamline the management of multiple cloud services, thus reducing complexity as well as lowering the TCO for IT. In addition, all cloud services operate through a single unified platform, so the potential for downtime due to outages is eliminated, making the service reliable and ensuring uninterrupted real-time communications. All of this on a smartphone or tablet with ‘face-time’ video/audio functionality, secure messaging and access to files on the go makes SmartBox the suited solution for mobile workers.

This is the best of both worlds for Sutherland Networks,” said Bill Sutherland, president and CEO, Sutherland Networks. “I have been using SmartBox for sharing all my customer proposals and network diagrams, and UCC for staying connected with existing clients. Now, with the unified application, I can collaborate; for example, I can video conference with future prospects and current clients, all from a single mobile application. This allows me to take my whole office with me, making me more productive and accessible.

This is a mobile application extending the company’s desktop UCC application to mobile devices. The application implements full multi-phase authentication and encrypted communications pervasively across all devices, including desktops, tablets, smartphones and SIP-based IP phones, ensuring safe and secure access to all WorldSmart services and communications content. In addition, it uses push technology that reduces battery drain and provides reliable delivery of messages and calls even when a mobile device is turned off or the app is in background mode. It runs on iOS and Android-based devices and uses Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G cellular networks, further extending the business’ international reach and mobile connectivity options.

It improves upon today’s separate store, share and sync features, which have been available as separate offerings for several years. It builds in unified communications features, such as audio/video calling and conferencing, secure IM, and presence and full web meeting collaboration, to create a unified application that simplifies how businesses function on the go. PanTerra also allows customers to deploy full end-to-end management of its cloud services, last-mile bandwidth and associated networking equipment to take advantage of service attributes far exceeding industry averages in availability, reliability, security, scalability, QoS, SLA and support. These attributes ensure performance of a customer’s communications solution while guaranteeing IT peace of mind.

PanTerra’s new integrated SmartBox-UCC mobile app integrates two of the most basic business collaboration needs: file sharing and communications,” said Terri McClure, senior analyst, ESG. “Add on the enhanced security and solid service reliability, and IT now has a compelling manageable solution for its mobile workforce.

SmartBox-UCC application is available and can be downloaded via the Apple or Google Play app stores.
