Next Gen Aptare Platform Bringing Storage and Backup Analytics to Cloud

StorageConsole 9.0

APTARE, Inc. announced its StorageConsole 9.0.

It allows IT administrators to proactively monitor and report on their entire storage and backup environment through a single web interface.

It also utilizes the cloud to provide customers with real-time access to reporting and analytics that help maximize storage efficiencies and solve problems related to compliance standards, chargeback, utilization, and visibility.

Customers can search through the entire set of reports. New reports are added to the search results as soon as they are published to the cloud and available for customers to find and use without software upgrades or installations. In addition, new subsystem data collection rules are managed in the cloud added to customer environments to make data collection and storage more efficient without requiring software upgrades.

With the release of StorageConsole 9.0, APTARE provides enterprise customers and service providers the ability to have software and analytics tools that get smarter without requiring product upgrades,” says Richard Clark, founder and CEO, APTARE. “APTARE’s customers and service provider partners can now easily find reports that help enterprises solve problems like meeting SLA requirements, optimizing chargeback processes, and providing visibility to avoid emergency purchases.”

In addition to a single HTML5 web interface and cloud reporting capabilities, StorageConsole 9.0 also brings these new features:

  • Greater depth and breadth of analytics including new subsystem support for Hitachi NAS and Dell Compellent to complement existing heterogeneous support for EMC, HDS, NetApp, HP, IBM, Oracle, VMware, and Symantec
  • Next generation architecture collects data faster, stores data more efficiently, and allows faster support for new subsystems and features with a universal data collector
  • Self-service custom report development accelerates time to value for specific data requests and automation of routinely scheduled reports, dashboards, and analytics
  • Modernized UI includes enhanced reporting features that make finding the data quicker and easier, plus integration with dynamic analytics from the cloud which provides real-time access to the most current set of reporting and analytic solutions

Cloud-based analytics are going to enable service providers to deliver additional value to enterprise IT organizations,” stated Bob Laliberte, senior analyst, ESG. “This allows enterprises to leverage a service provider to manage their storage and/or backup, but still retain complete visibility and access to detailed information about those environments and better manage their total ownership cost.”

StorageConsole 9.0 will be available for upgrades and purchase in November 2013.
