NetJapan Introduces ImageCenter LE, Post Backup Management Tool

NetJapan, Inc. has announced the ImageCenter LE, a management utility that provides local and remote management of ActiveImage Protector and vmGuardian backup image files.

Local backup with offsite replication

(1) ActiveImage Protector is installed on two servers and is saving
backup image files locally (ex. NAS or local RAID)
(2) ImageCenter is installed on another server, where it automatically
performs scheduled consolidation and local or offsite replication tasks
for these backup image files.

(3) In the event of disaster or system failure, NetJapan ImageBoot can be used
to instantly boot an ActiveImage Protector backup file as a fully-functional temporary
replacement machine, without requiring a lengthy P2V conversion.

ImageCenter LE is an add-on management tool that complements vmGuardian and company’s flagship product, ActiveImage Protector by managing replication tasks via scheduling and improves local system performance by offloading system and storage resource consumption to management systems. With ImageCenter LE, backup image files can be scheduled for replication to local or off-site high capacity datastores. Scheduled Incremental file consolidation for ActiveImage Protector backup images can be performed utilizing only the management systems resources.
