HDS: New Capabilities for Hitachi Content Platform Anywhere

Hitachi Data Systems Corporation announced new capabilities for Hitachi Content Platform Anywhere (HCP Anywhere).

HCP Anywhere software offers mobile and browser access to data stored in any NAS device, including Hitachi, NetApp and Windows file servers.

HDS has partnered with Digilink Ltd. to offer a HCP Anywhere Connector to provide full data management of SharePoint content from anywhere on any device (desktop, mobile and browser) at any time. Users can easily access and modify content on any device (even offline) and have it synchronized with SharePoint. The connector includes support for check-in, check-out and conflict resolution.

Users can use the HCP Anywhere plug-in for Microsoft Outlook to collaborate and share content. In addition, HCP Anywhere supports a range of Microsoft technologies including Windows Phone, Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) for data protection, and Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) for user authentication and management.

Mobility is the new normal. In order to be productive, employees need access to their data any time, on any device from anywhere. Content Platform Anywhere is an enterprise mobility platform focused on doing just that. Along with the newly announced capabilities, customers have the freedom to use existing infrastructure and hardware to deploy HCP Anywhere as a software-defined solution.
