Enmotus, Inc. announced FuzeDrive Workstation for Windows 7 and 8.

FuzeDrive Performance at Native SSD  Rates

FuzeDrive turns your workstation storage into an intelligent virtual SSD that provides the performance of an SSD and the capacity of HDDs.  When released, the product will also support Windows 10.

The company was demonstrating the new workstation product in an Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) workstation along with Intel’s new consumer NVMe SSDs at the 2015 Creative Storage Conference, being held in Culver City, CA.
 
FuzeDrive allows computer users to create one or more large virtual SSDs out of commercially available SSDs and HDDs, and intelligently map the fastest storage media to the most demanding files either automatically or via simple file pinning tools. This allows users to create SSD class storage for up to 1/5th the cost of all-SSD equivalent storage, taking advantage of the time saving benefits that SSDs provide without the typical high costs of using large capacity SSDs. In high definition video and image applications, as the entire files can be mapped to SSDs rather than cached, files may be streamed at full SSD rates. File pinning tools also allow video clips and image files to be pre-loaded into flash prior to editing or rendering images for example ensuring the best possible performance.
 
“Users now have an additional tool in their workstation arsenal to get the best out of their SSDs without breaking the bank,” said Andy Mills, CEO, Enmotus. “Unlike ordinary SSD caching solutions, our MicroTiering technology is traffic agnostic and has the ability to stream raw 4K video as demonstrated by several of our early adopter customers building intelligent hybrid workgroup servers. This technology is now available to workstation users as well as servers.”
 
The product is available in trial form and is expected to be available via the company’s web site and several reseller partners by end of July, 2015.
