Egenera Expands BC Services

For nearly 15 years Egenera, Inc. has delivered a cloud management software platform that makes it simple to design, deploy, manage and protect IT as a cloud service.

Xterity, Egenera’s managed cloud service, extends and deepens the company’s experience in data protection, provisioning and DR with BC services deployed either on premises or across multiple data centers, for service providers to offer them to clients.

Key Features

• Fully Managed BC Services: As a cloud-based subscription service, customers do not have to purchase any additional hardware or augment the skills set of their existing administrators to support Xterity’s BaaS or DRaaS.
• Support for Physical and Virtual Servers: Depending on a customer’s needs, storage may be retained within the primary Xterity location (for on-cloud) or at a secondary site.
• Hypervisor Agnostic: Users can allocate a physical or virtual server without the need to install hypervisors or third party management tools for VMs.
• Service Assurance: Xterity monitors and maintains the customer’s DR solution to ensure availability of data protection services when needed and also orchestrates tests for service assurance (e.g. configuring networks, storage infrastructure and computing infrastructure, and notifies the customer when the recovery site is available for use).

Xterity is hosted in Equinix, Inc.‘s facilities, which are designed, built and operated to meet the highest standards worldwide and meet end customer performance and security requirements. As a result, applications can run in nearby regional networks to ensure that customers’ latency and data residency needs are met. An additional facility, hosted by Citadel100 Datacenters Ltd, is located in the National Digital Campus at Citywest in Dublin, Ireland.
