Tuxera Inc., has released Flash File System for Linux and Android, which is optimized to run on flash storages such as eMMC and SD.

Flash File System is based on Tuxera’s deployed and file system technologies with special flash optimization and extended features.

Today’s smart devices need a reliable, power-efficient, high capacity storage to support the increasing number of applications that are often run in parallel. Intensive use through always-on apps, which download and write data around the clock, can wear out the physical flash memory. This means dramatically reduced device lifetime. The Flash File System has been developed with the hardware manufacturers to solve these problems.

Flash File System prevents file system fragmentation on-the-fly without performance compromises. The file system’s design improves the overall responsiveness of the device ensuring fast boot and mount times, and guarantees data and device integrity during storage removal and unexpected power-off.
