Apace postMAM Global

Consolidates management of multi-site media and workflow.

Apace Systems Corporation, as media management, workflow and clustered storage systems manufacturer for media content creation, distribution and archive, expands the scope of its media asset management by embracing global customers’ needs to access and consume media in a distributed manner over geographical locations for a variety of applications and devices.

Apace postMAM Global

Apace postMAM Global is the latest in a series of MAM based products from Apace to manage media data anywhere.

Apace PostMAM Global media asset management offers a distributed view to multi-site media data silos. Users with secured access can locally or remotely open a GUI with standard browser and parallel search on Apace’s distributed MAM system nodes, find a media asset anywhere in their organization’s data silos, playback proxy content, comment on time-code or intelligently transport all or a part of the raw media using Apace’s rough cut tools. postMAM Global functionality is further streamlined to work with latest Adobe Anywhere global media editing platforms as a solution. With an integrated panel, Apace MAM directly resides in Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Adobe Anywhere application facilitating managing media data anywhere.

We built our global MAM to be heterogeneously scalable and distributed in nature, to meet the demand of explosion of media data that can be scattered based on geography, device and application,” said Dr. Lee Hu, president/CTO, Apace.

Layering our MAM on top of our clustered media storage platforms enables us to offer intelligent self-managed data machines that can serve media data over IP and mobile networks at the global scale. Any customer silo of storage can be cataloged and managed by postMAM gateway platform(s),” Hu added.

postMAM offers a unified indexed media view as well as a file/workspace logic view for all content cataloged on the MAM platform and in-place editing. The MAM system can also act as a media gateway by cataloging data for variety of other 3rd party storage vendors. Additionally, MAM offers scalable workflow automation to handle from import to distribution of the content. For playback postMAM built in Private IP Channels can be set up for select users’ review, commenting and approval processes.

Apace Mobile access option offers Android and IOS devices for a global access point.

Built in MAM archival management services assures asset management services direct from MAM layer for media sent to tape and disk.

Another complementary component of global asset management infrastructure is Apace’s Offline Drive Management (ODM) platform. It further ties customer’s media on their loose drives to be shared for users, assuring that even loose drives sitting on shelf can be auto indexed, accessed and tracked instantly.

Apace clustered storage systems that also act as the base application server for the MAM nodes can offer performance with their latest SSD/HDD caching technology integrated with capacity storage packing 144TB in a 4U rack-mount system. The cluster of Apace storage servers can scale to petabytes as needed while managed by MAM as an intelligent media data library.

The data anywhere approach of Apace assures content is located, managed and consumed complementing customers’ global media workflow needs regardless of geography, workgroup, application, device or storage silo type media data lives on.
