Alura Offering Fixed Price, Unlimited Retention Cloud Backup and DR Model

Alura Business Solutions is one of the first MSPs to switch to a fixed price, unlimited retention cloud backup and disaster model.

Alura’s priorities lie in monitoring the market to guarantee that they keep their clients ahead of their competition by supplying them with the technology and solutions for affordable prices.

Since Hurricane Sandy, Alura has specifically been evaluating, developing, and testing various remote backup and DR platforms.

“While the current solution has served us very well over the past eight years, there were some limitations and a lack of development and acceptable product roadmap. Specifically, recovery time in the event of a disaster has become unacceptable and below industry standards,” said Jason Derstine, president, Alura. “To overcome these limitations we have selected a new platform that not only solves the problems above, but is not priced per gigabyte – and has a continuous commitment to providing a state of the art product. By November 1st, we will be rolling out our new platform across our existing clients’ networks. This will be a completely seamless process on their end. They will immediately receive increased functionality, and additional optional DR features will be coming in the next two quarters.”

A brief summary of the improvements that clients can expect to their system with the new update include preserving the 90 day retention period. In fact, clients will not lose the previous 90 days they have stored on Alura’s old system. The existing once a day backup schedule and time window will be preserved. Alura will have the ability to run backups multiple times per day, or real time continuous backups at no additional charge to the client.

“We are very excited about our new platform and all of these improvements bring a much more comprehensive DR plan, drastically reduced recovery time, and has the ability to meet any increased regulations or compliancy related to data retention. Under an unlimited storage platform you will also be free to send all of your data to the cloud – and not worry about data growth in the future, while knowing all of your data is safe,” said Derstine.
