Portable data carrier featuring secure data processing

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”Disclosed is a method for securely processing data in a portable data carrier. Said method is characterized by the following steps: a) the data to be processed is requested, b) the data to be processed is encoded, c) the encoded data is temporarily stored in a buffer storage zone of the data carrier, d) the temporarily stored, encoded data is decoded by means of a decoding key, and e) the decoded data is processed.“
The patent application was filed on May 11, 2006 (11/920,258).
