Sharad Srivastava VP Engineering, Datera

Had same role at Veritas Technologies

Datera,SrivastavaDatera, Inc., the hyperscale data company, announced that Sharad Srivastava has joined the company as VP of engineering to lead product development teams, executing key initiatives during a period of growth.

 

He comes to Datera from information management company Veritas Technologies, where he had a record leading numerous key storage development and product initiatives as VP of engineering.

His new role at Datera is the natural progression of a twenty-year career, encompassing engineering execution, technical leadership and strategy development.

In his new role, Srivastava will direct overall corporate engineering, including strategic planning, product design and development, and quality assurance.

Prior to Srivastava’s time at Veritas Technologies, he worked at Symantec and Veritas Software where he started, led and delivered enterprise HA solutions (Veritas Cluster Server). He managed governance of unstructured data (Data Insight) and the Veritas Storage Stack (file system and volume manager), which is used for enterprise database and analytics workloads. In addition, he conceived, led and launched a number of successful new initiatives related to virtualization, VMware clouds, OpenStack clouds and lately also container clouds.

He has a M.S. in Computer Science from Oregon State University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.
