Virtual Instruments,O’DonnellVirtual Instruments, Inc. appointmed Sean O’Donnell as its new EMEA MD.

He joins Virtual Instruments from his success as VP sales at artificial intelligence expert IPsoft, where he built sales teams that delivered substantial growth in both new and existing accounts. Prior to this role, he built and grew EMEA annual turnover for digital infrastructure management leader SevOne from zero to approximately $20 million in five years. Previous roles included EMEA sales leadership for EMC Smarts, part of the EMC Service Assurance Suite.

Reporting to SVP VP sales Warren Bell, O’Donnell is focused on growing the company’s business in EMEA. This includes building on the company’s success in the UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where the company has customers that include some large banking, finance, telecommunications, and retail organisations. He will also aim to increase market share in the Nordic and Benelux markets, with an expanded team offering to deliver support to new and existing customers.

Virtual Instruments’ expansion into application-centric infrastructure performance management gives the company a unique offering – complete end-to-end visibility across the IT infrastructure. By combining machine data and wire data with advanced, actionable analytics, the company sets itself apart from other vendors. It is this clarity across the hybrid data centre that will help us to meet CIOs’ increasingly demanding need to deliver very high scale and mission critical application performance in support of business goals,” O’Donnell said.

President Ray Villeneuve noted: “Sean is an experienced leader who builds high-performing teams that produce impressive results. We were particularly impressed with his work in the application and infrastructure performance spaces at SevOne and EMC Smarts. His proven track record demonstrates his ability to win new business and grow deeper relationships with existing customers. We are pleased to welcome Sean to the Virtual Instruments team.”
