And Mark Ward SVP sales and marketing

Amplidata NV has added two senior executives to its team, preparing the company to achieve growth targets and serve an expanded customer base.

Mark Ward joins as SVP sales and marketing after decades of holding leadership positions in the storage technology market.

Sam Sirisena brings 25 years of experience in the technology industry to his new role as SVP, business development and operations.

Sam and Mark are strong additions to our already talented team,” said Mike Wall, CEO and chairman, Amplidata. “Their skills and experience further enhance our ability to execute on our growth objectives with strategies and programs that compliment our industry leading technology.”

Amplidata recently closed a venture funding round of $11 million to support and accelerate the momentum for its patented storage solution.

Amplidata, ward Ward built his career in the storage industry on the foundation of more than 14 years with EMC, where he was one of the first 100 employees and oversaw the company’s expansion into Europe and Asia, eventually becoming VP of global marketing for EMC’s software business and professional services. From EMC, he helped found Enterprise Storage Ventures, which funded and developed companies including Storage Networks, AppIQ, Archivas, Akara Networks and WysDM. Since then, he has held senior leadership positions with Storage Technology Corporation and Copan Systems.

“Amplidata has the technology, team and vision to address a market hungry for storage systems with high levels of manageability, scalability, and security,” said Ward. “As the limitations of legacy storage technology become painfully obvious, enterprises and service providers need a new architecture built to address today’s and future workloads.

Sirisena brings a strategic focus and vision gained during 25 years in the technology industry. During his 15 years at Promise Technology, Inc., he served as the EVP of business development, SVP sales and marketing and GM of the advanced storage group, focused on the enterprise storage segment. He also served on the board of directors from 1998-2002 and helped the company get listed on the Taiwan stock exchange. He holds a Bachelor and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering from Loyola Marymount University and followed a Mathematics/Physics program at the University of Colombo.

The market has already identified Amplidata as the company to watch in cloud-scale storage architecture,” said Sirisena. “The growth in data sets and new, demanding applications point to a dramatically increasing need for our massively-scalable, secure and manageable technology.”
