Richard Nottenburg COB, Violin Memory

Replacing Howard Bain III

Violin Memory, Inc. announced that Georges Antoun has been elected to its board of directors, effective June 6, 2014.

In addition, Dr. Richard N. Nottenburg has been named as COB effective June 6, 2014.

Current chairman Howard Bain III, and board member, Jeff Newman, have stepped down.

Antoun is COO of First Solar, a global provider of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems. Prior to his positionr, he was a venture partner at Technology Crossover Ventures, head of product area IP and broadband at Ericsson, and held various executive officer positions at Redback Networks, and Cisco Systems. In addition to his board seat at Violin Memory, he currently serves on the board of directors of Ruckus Wireless. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Louisiana, an M.S. in Information Systems from NYU Poly and an Executive Management degree from the Ericsson program at Columbia University.

Nottenburg, Violin Memory Nottenburg is a management consultant and private investor working with technology companies in the semiconductor, software and wireless communications industries. He has been a member of the Violin Memory board of directors since February 2014 and currently serves on the boards of Aeroflex Holding Corp., PMC-Sierra, Inc., and Verint Systems Inc. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York University, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University, and a Doctor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland.
