R. Brooks Borcherding Chief Revenue Officer, Datto

Emily Glass VP of customer experience

Datto, Inc., provider of backup, recovery and BC solutions, has appointed R. Brooks Borcherding as its chief revenue officer (CRO) and Emily Glass as its VP of customer experience.

The two seasoned industry veterans join the executive team on the heels of a landmark year for Datto, as the company achieved more than 50% year-over-year growth and expanded into EMEA and Australia.

Datto manages more than 180PB of data on behalf of its MSP partners around the world, and with more than a million backups a week for its user base, its Total Data Protection Platform protects customers’ business data wherever it lives. The company’s customer-centric approach to infrastructure and solutions is gaining traction worldwide, as Datto services have proven invaluable to companies who depend on the cloud for full backup, DR and BC services.

Brooks Borcherding is an industry veteran with more than 25 years of enterprise IT, cloud computing and services experience, and is respected for his international growth strategies and successes. He is charged with overseeing Datto’s revenue growth for sales, marketing and business development teams. He was previously the president of Cloud Advisory Services, LLC, and the SVP of enterprise and carrier sales at Time Warner Cable (TWC). He also led NaviSite, provider of enterprise managed cloud services, as its CEO and president, through a global expansion and 2011 acquisition by TWC. He also had tenures at Avaya, Cisco and Accenture.

Formerly the VP of customer care at Backupify, and most recently the VP of training and professional services at Datto, he will lead the company’s training and support departments in a joint effort to enhance customer experience. The initiative will involve an expanded Datto Academy with sales and technical educational resources, an online community for partners, and personalized support options, built on a foundation of trust between Datto and its partner organizations. The program will employ KPI metrics such as customer satisfaction and customer effort to ensure its efficacy. His career expertise in innovating and differentiating customer support programs backs Datto’s customer strategy.
