Jawaad Tariq VP of Engineering, StorageCraft

Came from Fusion-io/Sandisk

StorageCraft Technology Corp. announced that Jawaad Tariq is its new VP of engineering.

A 17-year veteran with a successful management record in high-performing software engineering organizations, he will play a key role in enhancing the StorageCraft Recovery Solution.

With Tariq in place, CEO Matt Medeiros has now assembled a world-class management team. Since his arrival in January, he has recruited Marvin Blough as VP of WW sales and Matthew Crumley as CFO. These new hires complement the StorageCraft founders who remain on staff.

The company’s culture has evolved to one of speed, accountability and performance. In just this past 60 days, StorageCraft has earned a Best of VMworld Gold Winner Award for Data Protection, seen its CEO named the No. 1 Top Innovator by CRN, acquired assets in the form of people, intellectual property and software solutions for its data analytics from Gillware Data Services, LLC, and launched a new partner program and online portal.

Tariq, who came to StorageCraft from Fusion-io/Sandisk, will oversee the operations of the software development and quality assurance teams. His responsibilities also include the creation of new products and features for the entire suite of backup and DR software and the StorageCraft cloud offerings.

StorageCraft is constantly striving to provide intelligent and robust BC solutions for our partners and their clients. Jawaad Tariq’s creative development skills and highly successful management style will allow the company to accelerate the release of intelligent recovery and backup solutions,” said Scott Barnes, StorageCraft CTO.

During his five years at Fusion-io, including four-plus years as the software engineering director, Tariq managed and expanded the company’s software development teams. He also had a 10-year stint at Novell, where he served as software engineering director and created and managed the engineering organization for data center orchestration and cloud management.

He received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
