Ernest Sampias Board’s Director, Dot Hill

Dot Hill Systems Corp. announced the appointment of Ernest Sampias as a member of the board of directors.

He was appointed as a Class I director and will serve until the 2016 annual meeting of shareholders when he will be eligible for re-election.

“We are excited to welcome Ernie, a highly respected, long-time leader in the storage industry, to our board,” said Charles Christ, chairman. “Ernie has a proven track record in working in both public and private companies and board experience as a director.”

Sampias is CEO at Sampias Holdings, LLC and has board experience as a director and audit committee chairman for Xyratex, Ltd. and Bio Fuel Energy, both former public companies. His professional experience includes financial and leadership roles for both private and public companies within the information technologies, telecommunications, energy, and directories industries.

Most recently, he served as interim CEO and director for Xyratex, Ltd., a public company until its sale in March 2014 to Seagate. Prior to that, he served as CFO for Sensis Pty Ltd, a consumer directory company of Telstra in Melbourne, Australia from 2007 to 2009. His prior experience includes CFO roles for Spectralink, Local Matters, Inc., McDATA Corporation, Convergent Communications, and US West Dex Directories.

He graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with Distinction, and holds a Master’s Degree in Taxation from DePaul University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the Financial Executives Institute, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a board member for the CO Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
