David Williams, VP Product Management and Strategy, Network Visibility Products, Emulex

Served as VP of strategy in CTO office at BMC

Emulex Corporation announced the appointment of David Williams as VP of product management and strategy for the Network Visibility Products (NVP) portfolio, where he will be responsible for driving the product roadmap, strategy development, and identifying new market opportunities.

He brings 30 years of global IT expertise in the design, development, marketing and implementation of enterprise software products at companies including BMC, IBM Tivoli, and CA, and was also an industry analyst at Gartner.

David’s product management expertise will be integral as we continue to develop our long-term strategy for the NVP division,” said Ali Hedayati, SVP and GM, NVP, Emulex. “He joins us at a pivotal time, as we capitalize on the market opportunity to deliver network visibility and performance solutions, while expanding our focus on the growing software and virtualization markets in the year ahead.”

Over the last few months, the company has rounded out the NVP organization, including the appointment of industry veteran Matt McSweeney as new head of worldwide sales, and John Botros as the director of program management and now, the appointment of a new VP of product management and strategy.

De brings more than 30 years of global IT experience in the design, development, marketing and implementation of enterprise software products.  Prior to Emulex, Williams served as VP of strategy in the CTO office at BMC, responsible for the strategy and vision for cloud and automation and prior to that, defining the product direction and strategy for BMC’s application performance management portfolio. Prior to BMC, he was a research VP at Gartner, the VP marketing at AlterPoint (acquired by Versata) and held a number of executive roles at IBM Tivoli, including VP of product strategy and product management responsible for enterprise management portfolio. He also held senior roles at CA and Digital Equipment and spent his early years in IT operations, working for several financial, manufacturing and IT services companies.
