Carl Ramsey Solution Specialist, Talon Storage

In UK

Talon Storage Solutions, provider of Microsoft File Aware application acceleration and storage caching solutions for branch office infrastructure, has announced a change to its UK management team.

Ramsey, Talon Carl Ramsey has been brought on board for the role of solution specialist. This move is designed to develop and maintain relationships with key specialist partners.

Carl has over ten years’ experience in the customer sales industry, with particular expertise in technical consultancy. In his previous role at Vcentral, he specialised in consulting customers about virtualisation software and storage solutions and worked closely with Talon for over a year and a half. From this relationship, it became clear that Talon’s ambition, determination and approach matched his own and the new role at Talon was an opportunity.

In his new position as solution specialist, he will move away from virtualisation to focus on building and maintaining relationships with VARs, VADs and end user organisations.

Carl Ramsey explained: “The last year has been really exciting for Talon as it has enjoyed a 600%  growth in the UK market. This has helped establish its reputation as a leading provider of Microsoft File Aware, which implements distributed enterprise file collaboration and branch office storage. Although we have catapulted our position in the UK, it is vital that we continue to explore new – and maintain existing – relationships with key partners to continue to grow.”

With the UK market being key for Talon, the company is focusing on quality over quantity in terms of its partner recruitment strategy.

Carl continued: “Our long-term goal is to build a select team of partners that will reach out to the architectural, engineering, construction industries and service Global 2000 companies. As Talon’s RemoteFAST delivers optimal global file sharing, and overcomes the barriers of latency, bandwidth and network reliability, it solves some of the toughest branch office IT challenges, and is quietly transforming the workplace.

Talon’s SVP sales and marketing, Andrew Mullen, said of the new appointment: “With Carl on board, part of his responsibility is to bring in key partners through The Talon Channel Program. This focuses on the convergence of file optimisation, collaboration and storage caching, and gives resellers a way to tap into these rapidly growing market, ultimately helping their businesses and profitability. Over 98%  of Talon’s global revenue went through its channels in 2013 and 2014.”

Mullen continued: “If Talon is to drive growth and increase market relevance, we need to have the right skills in place to move the business forward. Carl has built up an incredible track record of exceedingly high performance and has traits of being a smart, creative professional; he brings with him a unique set of skills which will no doubt prove invaluable to our company.”
