Sharpening our Focus in Hybrid IT, Global Sales, and Storage
 
Last month, following the announcement of the spin-off and merger of our Enterprise Services business with CSC, we made some initial organizational changes to better address the demands of a highly competitive market, better serve our customers and partners, and ultimately position the Enterprise Group (EG) for long-term success. At the time, we promised we would announce the next level of detail around the organization on August 1. Therefore, this is an exciting day for EG as we announce changes that will strengthen the organization and help us win in the markets where we compete.
 
Hybrid IT
HPE’s combination of vision, technology and expertise positions us better than any other vendor in our space, but we need to continue to sharpen our focus and harness our strengths. HPE is a leader in the private cloud market and we continue to see strong momentum across our Helion cloud portfolio.

Today, we announced some key changes to our cloud organization in order to capitalize on this growth opportunity and more deeply align with our vision for hybrid IT.

We are moving our Helion OpenStack (HOS) and Helion CloudSystem teams to EG and will become part of the newly-created Software-Defined & Cloud Group (SDCG), led by Ric Lewis. By bringing these assets together, we create a single organization tasked with a common mission – to provide best-in-class solutions that enable developers and operators to deploy their applications across traditional and cloud infrastructures, simply and effortlessly. Mark Interrante will lead this team. As part of this transition, Bill Hilf will be leaving HPE to pursue other opportunities.
 
Global Sales
As we announced on June 27, we are aligning our sales team into a single organization, led by Peter Ryan. We made this move to centralize and simplify our sales organization. As a continuation of that momentum, we also announced that Jim Merritt, who currently leads AsiaPac and Japan (APJ), will lead the North America sales regions. Our current MD of Americas sales, Robert Vrij, will be leaving HPE at the end of the year. Phil Davis, currently head of storage sales in APJ, will now be responsible for sales in APJ.
 
Storage

Finally, we announced that that Bill Philbin will be taking over as head of our storage business; the role previously held by Manish Goel, who has decided to leave HPE to pursue other opportunities.

Philbin is an industry veteran with over 30 years of high technology experience managing engineering, services and marketing functions.
