Anil Gadre SVP of Product Management, MapR

MapR Technologies, Inc. announced that Anil Gadre has joined the company as senior VP of product management.

 He served as a strategic advisor to the company, and, in his new role, will drive the ongoing strategic development and execution of MapR products. With him, the company adds a technology leader and further expands its deep executive management team.

He brings to MapR more than 20 years of experience driving innovative products. At Sun Microsystems, he held a variety of roles, including CMO, and, most recently, GM of the open source software business, which included the Java platform and the MySQL database. Prior to joining MapR, he was EVP and CMO at Silver Spring Networks.

“During his tenure at Sun, Anil had overall responsibility for a broad range of product categories including MySQL and Java, some of the most widely-adopted open source technologies of all time,” said John Schroeder, CEO and co-founder, MapR. “Anil understands enterprise customer requirements and can translate their requests and challenges into robust, market-leading enterprise Hadoop solutions.”
